A peaceful, compassionate goodbye in the place they love most.
Saying goodbye is one of the hardest decisions we make for our beloved pets. When the time comes, we believe they deserve to pass with dignity, surrounded by love, in the comfort of home.
At Cygnus, we offer at-home euthanasia to ensure your pet’s final moments are calm, painless, and filled with peace. There is no requirement to have used our other services—we trust that you know your pet best but we are also here to help you navigate your decision. When you believe it’s time, we’re here to support you.
✔ A compassionate, in-home visit from a veterinarian who will guide you through the process with care.
✔ Sedation ensure comfort, helping your pet drift into a relaxed, deep sleep before the final step.
✔ The euthanasia procedure, performed with the utmost gentleness and respect.
✔ Memorial keepsakes, such as a paw print or a nose print, if desired.
✔ Cremation services, with the options of private cremation and the return of your pet’s remains or group cremation without. This is a very personal choice and from experience it would seem about half of pet owners opt for the private cremation with return of their pet’s ashes and half choose a cremation without the return of ashes. This is a very personal choice but know that both are correct.
This service is for pet owners who feel it’s time to say goodbye and want their pet’s final moments to be as stress-free, comfortable, and loving as possible.
There’s no perfect moment—only the one that feels right for your pet and your family. If your pet is in continual pain, struggling to complete normal behaviors, eating much less, or withdrawing from normal interactions, it may be time to consider euthanasia.
You don’t have to make this decision alone—if you need guidance, we’re here to help. Sometimes other medical advice may be considered first and we are here to talk about that should you want to.
We start by gently sedating your pet, allowing them to relax into a peaceful sleep. Once they are completely at ease, we administer a final medication (typically through a vein although there are other areas of administration should circumstances require it) that painlessly ceases vital functions.
The process is quiet, peaceful, and free from distress.
Yes. We encourage family members and other pets to be present if they wish. Some pets find comfort in being surrounded by familiar faces, while others may prefer privacy.
We respect your wishes and create a space that feels right for you.
We offer cremation services with the option for private cremation, where your pet’s remains will be returned to you. If you prefer, we can also arrange communal cremation or provide guidance if you wish to handle aftercare yourself.
This decision is very personal and from our experience we have found an even split with pet parents on which they choose.
Grief is a natural part of saying goodbye, and you don’t have to go through it alone. We provide memorial keepsakes and can guide you to pet loss resources to help you through this difficult time.
Offering in-home holistic care and end-of-life support wherever your pet feels most at peace.
